About the event

Join the livestream at either of the following:

- our YouTube channel

- our Facebook channel

You’ll hear from:

  • Elizabeth Sawin, co-director of US-based NGO Climate Interactive. She has been writing (here) about how "the public is coming to understand that... if you wait until you can see the impact, it is too late to stop it".
  • Kingsmill Bond, energy strategist at UK-based NGO Carbon Tracker. This financial market strategist has been looking at what the recent oil price changes mean for the fossil fuel industry arguing (here) that: "The virus will bring forward peak demand for fossil fuels... that means that peak emissions was almost certainly 2019, and perhaps peak fossil fuels as well."

After some Q&A with Clubbers, we will wrap up with a contribution from JC Coccoli. JC is an American comedian, writer and producer. Last year, after driving across the US in an electric car for an Amazon Prime docu-series The New American Road Trip, she was asked to speak at the United Nations about the experience and how comedy and culture can influence policy.
